Born in Port-au-prince Haiti, by the age of sixteen ZABANGO® was already a well known songwriter and a lead singer in the Caribbean group, "Sugar Jazz". As a teenager he was influenced by the following great artists; Bob Marley, James Brown, Byron Lee, Jimmy Cliff and Caribbean Groups such as; Tabou Combo and Kassav.
